OVERNIGHT
She loses to the hill at dusk: hands on knees, chest heaving, the city lights far below. One cut on a defeated exhale, and it is dawn on the same crest, and she comes through at full flight past the exact spot where she broke. The film skips the whole night, because the work is the part you never see.
FOLDED
An athlete made of paper runs a paper city, and every effort creases him. Night comes and the world does the unseen work: creases pressed smooth, torn fibers rewoven, the figure carefully re-folded. At dawn he springs off the hill sharper than he arrived. His band is the only woven thing in the world.
THE MORNING READ
Both films end at the same minute: the moment you wake and the night's work is already done. Nothing on your wrist lights up, nothing asks to be looked at. The curve crested while you slept.
